Next was the ride to Big Sur for about 66 km starting with the bike path along the coast and then the famous 17 Mile Drive. It was cloudy for most of the day perfect for golf and I rode up to pebble beach golf course which was in perfect condition. Here is a pic of the golf course.

Then it was on to the Bixby Bridge built in 1932 with a big drop followed by a long climb. On the way to the Bridge there was a road accident between a motor bike and a car which caused the cars to have over an hour delay this allowed us to ride through and get to Big Sur without any traffic behind us. M2 who was driving got to park on Hwy 1 for over an hour and was last to arrive. Here is the bridge

Big Sur is a very small town in a redwood forest but the bar is lively and our 'resort accommodation is quaint. Just like home when you are out in the country there is no mobile phone reception.
First day where we made lunch just like in Europe complete with pickled gerkins.
Now back to the riding, Ferdy is back in yellow but today's stage winner was Goose who pulled out all stops to jump the peloton while they took pictures at the Bixby br and made it to Big Sur in front. Ferry's sprint points got him to the front but 'pedals' is only 1 point behind.
Ferdy. 146
Pedals. 145
Wighty. 131
M2. 119
Goose (aka Michael ). 114

Tomorrow a long ride to San Simeon so we will start early.
