Back from the Hearst Castle La Cuesta Encantada

We played tourist today and are now back at the motel chilling out . The tour was very worthwhile as the castle is completely over the top. I liked the Neptune pool the best but the entry foyer with all it's tapestries was pretty good.

It was almost warm enough to go for a swim, but I didn't want to test the local judicial system. The columns are from Rome 2000 years old.

The outside has numerous art works here is one that reminds me of Ferdy after he has posted a stage win

This is the indoor swimming pool complete with real gold inlay.

Next was lunch at old San Simeon where we had to queue for half an hour which I interpreted as it must be an ok lunch stop and it was.

I ate this Hearst Ranch double cheese burger and then took a long walk along the beach.

We then picked up a hitchhiker, it was risky but he turned out to be a jolly chap!

Tomorrow it's down highway 1 for. Bit then turn left up route 46 and past numerous wineries before we stop right on the San Andreas fault.
I think it's Chinese tonight at the ginger restaurant in Cambria by recommendation from Dee who we met in the lunch queue.

Might check out the elephant seals again before we leave the beach
